Matthias Breiter has worked for over 30 years with grizzlies, first as a biologist, and later on as an author, a photographer and film maker. This book was first produced for Tecklenborg Verlag in German. As numerous national parks and environmental organizations in North America expressed interest in the book, Matthias rewrote the manuscript and published the book in English.
The book shows in image and text the intimate family lives of grizzlies across all seasons, and in different environments, from the barren grounds in northern Alaska to the coastal ecosystems along North America west coast.
